Step into the Zenda University (ZU) course, get
tuned up and start your 2008 MC Scow campaign off right! The
Melges instructors are developing new ways to teach you how
to go fast.
PURPOSE/MISSION
To further progress and promote MC Scow racing
for those who are eager to learn and absorb professional knowledge
within a casual, fun atmosphere, ultimately making individuals
better sailors and encouraging the enjoyment of the sport of
sailing.

Tuesday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 12
Introduction to MC Scow Zenda University begins at 9 a.m. on
Tuesday, March 11.
Please make sure your boat is rigged and race ready by this
time.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
MONDAY, MARCH 10
The Lake Eustis Sailing Club will be open to you. This will allow
you to rig your boat, get organized, and have a little Florida
fun in the sun at a fantastic Scow racing venue. Please have
your boat race ready by Monday night so we can start at 9
a.m. sharp on Tuesday! Get ready for some incredible MC Scow
sailing!
ZENDA UNIVERSITY: NEW
IN 2008
TUESDAY, MARCH 11
9:00 A.M. Zenda University
Introduction at the Lake Eustis Sailing Club.
Each participant will receive breakfast and lunch every day.
The Debrief Dinner on Tuesday evenings included in your ZU course
entry fee. Workbooks and articles will be introduced. Chalk talks,
an evening seminar and award presentation will take place. Specific
on the water drills and personal coaching information will be
discussed at time of course introduction. Individual boat and
sail tuning, on the water demonstrations by the instructors will
take place for your benefit.

P.M. Your first day
will conclude.
7:30
P.M. Dinner and
debriefing at a local establishment. This meal will be
included in the ZU entry fee.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12
9:00 A.M. Zenda University
continues. Everyone will meet at the Lake Eustis Sailing Club.
A review the previous day, including tactics, starting and tuning
secrets will be the feature of day two.

UNIVERSITY RACE INSTRUCTIONS

Boats Have Right Away At All Times* |

Corinthian sailing is required at all times. |
| 02. |
Please help your partner and learn from the experience
of having a training partner. This will advance your sailing. |
| 03. |
No Protests! If you foul someone you must do a 720. |
| 04. |
Leeward gates may be used. |
| 05. |
There will not be an offset. |
| 06. |
Your starting line will be between two marks. |
| 07. |
When finishing downwind your finish line will be between
your two starting marks. |
| 08. |
When finishing upwind your finish line will be between
the windward mark and the instructor boat. |
| 09. |
3 Minute starts will be in effect. No flags will be used.
Horn signals and verbal announcements will be made. |
| 10. |
The one minute rule is in effect for all starts. |
| 11. |
Most Important: Stay near the starting area at all times
for important announcements, course changes, race starts,
drill schedule. Stay close, we will not wait to start a
race! |
ZENDA UNIVERSITY SPECIFICS
THINGS TO KNOW
This is an instructional regatta. We will have official races
and awards for the racing. During these races you will receive
personal coaching and advice. By following the race guidelines
we can better instruct you. Awards will be given out at the official
ZU ceremony on Wednesday afternoon.
ENTRY FEE: $425
Your entry must be confirmed or received prior to February 1st.
Final payment can be made via Mastercard or Visa. If paying

NOTE: There is
a limit of 20 participants to the course. Reservations will
be counted on a first come, first serve basis. Please send
your entry in today!
Again, please have your
boat rigged and ready to sail by Monday evening March 10. Be
ready for some fun! We can guarantee your advancement in your
boat during this intense sailing experience. To gear up your
2008 campaign you will want to attend the Zenda University
Melges MC Scow course.
