The Lake Eustis Sailing Club’ LASER FLEET is quickly becoming one of the club’s most active ONE DESIGN DINGHY FLEETS. Currently, the fleet counts 20 active Laser sailors, with some members trailering the boats back and forth to the club.
A really nice development is that many of our junior Opti graduates have chosen to further improve their sailing skills by following the club’s INSTRUCTIONAL LASER SAILING PROGRAM.

 

Lake Eustis is a huge lake and is just perfect for open dinghy racing and for One Design Regatta racing. The club is hosting many important One Design Regattas throughout the sailing season with participating sailors coming from all over the U.S.

Laser sail activities on Lake Eustis are:
-Club racing on 1st and 3rd weekends,
-SHORT RACES ON WEDNESDAY afternoons in wintertime, from 3 pm-5.30pm; in summertime from 6 pm – sun set, followed by instructional “chalk talk” about boat handling, tactics and racing rules.
-Short Races on Sunday afternoons: Sail/race training and instructional coaching for juniors and adults.

The Lake Eustis Laser Fleet is hosting the March 29, 2008 Laser Regatta in the
LASER TREASURE COAST REGATTA SERIES.
Other local Regattas with Laser participation are: George Washinton Birthday Regatta at Lake Eustis, Febr. 16 and 17 and MDYC Regatta on April 5 and 6, 2008.
